Michael DeVoter is a dual certified Corrections professional in the position of Major of Security with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. He has served the sheriff and the citizens of Palm Beach County for more than 25 years.
Being promoted through the ranks Major DeVoter’s command includes 625 sworn and non-sworn personnel and two facilities with a combined rated capacity of 3164 beds.
Major DeVoter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Barry University. He is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy, as well as maintaining certifying manager credentials with the American Correctional Association and the American Jail Association. Major DeVoter is a certified Florida Model Jail inspector as well as ACA auditor and has been an FCAC assessor. He is a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served in the Persian Gulf.
