Brian Brittain has been serving in the criminal justice field since 2001. During which, he has held several positions in drug court and pretrial services. He currently serves as the Court Services Manager for Volusia County, Florida. Before his time in criminal justice, Brian served our country in the United States Army, assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. He is an experienced grant writer, public speaker, adjunct professor, and conference presenter.

Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from the University of Central Florida, a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University, and a doctorate in interdisciplinary leadership from Creighton University. His dissertation focused on examining the predictive validity of the Public Safety Assessment in Volusia County, Florida.

Brian is a past president of the Association of Pretrial Professionals of Florida (APPF) and was instrumental in the development of APPF policies and procedures. Additionally, he is one of only a few pretrial accreditation team leaders in the state of Florida. Brian also serves on the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (NAPSA) Board of Directors as the Treasurer and chair of NAPSA’s Education Committee.
