Since July 2018, Ms. Leftheris has served as the Inspector General and Director of Compliance for the State University System of Florida - Board of Governors. In her role she oversees the audit, compliance, and investigative activities of the governing body for the State University System of Florida. Reporting to the Chancellor and Chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee she coordinates and reports to the Board of Governors audit, compliance and significant investigative activities of the 12 public universities within the State of Florida.

Ms. Leftheris began her career in 1991 and has served in several state agencies as well as the private sector. She previously served 9 years as the Inspector General for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, where her responsibilities included overseeing investigations of sworn law enforcement officers within the Florida Highway Patrol.

A graduate of Florida State University with degrees in both Finance and Accounting, Ms. Leftheris has obtained the professional certifications of Certified Inspector General, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Information Systems Auditor. She currently serves as Second Vice President for the Florida Association of Inspectors General, a member of the Leon County School Board Audit Committee and a previous member of the Commission for the Florida Commission for Law Enforcement Accreditation, Standards Interpretation and Review Committee.

She and her husband of 25 years, Jim reside in Tallahassee and have a daughter who is a student at Florida State University.
