Commissioner Kathy Bryant has served on the Marion County Board of County Commissioners since 2010 and has served as Chairman four times. She represents Marion County’s District 2, which encompasses the southwestern portion of Marion County.

Commissioner Bryant has served as the Commission liaison for more than a dozen organizations, including the Chamber Economic Partnership (CEP), Florida Horse Park, Hospital District Board, Public Safety Coordinating Council, Southeastern Livestock / Agricultural Hall of Fame and is currently serving as a liaison to the Tourist Development Council, Withlacoochee Water Supply authority and several others.

Bryant has also shepherded several major development projects such as the expansion of the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, formation of the Ocala Health Trauma Center and the creation of Marion County’s second industrial hub, the Florida Crossroads Commerce Park, which is located within her district.

State-level officials have also seen fit to formally recognize Commissioner Bryant’s leadership. The Florida Association of Counties presented her with the Presidential Advocacy Award. This award recognized Commissioner Bryant as an invaluable asset during Florida’s state legislative session and honored her exceptional commitment to advancing public policy. She has also served as President of the Florida Association of Counties and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of their Finance, Tax & Administration Committee.
