Rigoberto Perez currently serves as a Supervisor with the Probation Division of the Department of Community Programs at the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO). He has dedicated over 22 years of service to the agency, where he oversees staff development, training, and the implementation of operational improvements to strengthen community supervision and public safety.
Mr. Perez began his career at BSO in 2003 as a Community Control Supervision Specialist. In 2015, he was promoted to Community Programs Supervisor. Prior to his work with BSO, Mr. Perez built a strong foundation in behavioral health and community services. He provided intensive case management, coordinated homeless outreach programs, and worked directly with at-risk youth and adults involved with the justice system.
Mr. Perez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (1993) and a Master of Public Administration (2006) from Florida International University, where he also completed graduate certificates in Public Management and Human Resource Policy and Management.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Perez serves on the Board of the Florida Association of Community Corrections (FACC) and is a Commissioner on the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (FCAC). Through these roles, he contributes to advancing best practices and strengthening standards within Florida’s corrections and community supervision systems.
