Chief Sean Brammer is a 27-year law enforcement veteran who began his law enforcement career with the Florida Highway Patrol in 1997. While at FHP, he performed duties in Road Patrol, DUI Task Force, Field Training Officer, Training as a General Instructor, and Interim Public Information Officer (PIO). Chief Brammer’s law enforcement experience also includes Critical Incident Response Team, Traffic Homicide, Community Policing Unit, and Internal Affairs as an Investigator. In 2006 Chief Brammer joined the Florida Atlantic University Police Department (FAU PD) as Captain, advancing quickly through the ranks of Major and Deputy Chief and was appointed Chief of FAU PD in 2017. During his matriculation through the ranks, he was charged with overseeing Operations, Support Division, Uniform Division, Criminal Investigations, Communications, Special Events and the Training Division. Under his leadership as Chief of Police, the FAU Police Department successfully achieved dual accreditation through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA), and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). Chief Brammer earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Barry University. He is a member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Palm Beach County Association of Chiefs of Police, Police Executive Research Forum, International Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), Florida Police Accreditation Coalition, and the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security. He currently serves as the FPCA District 13 Director, and Co-Chair for the FPCA Public and Private Partnership Committee. He is a past president of the Palm Beach County Association of Chiefs of Police and served two (2) terms as the Chair for the Criminal Justice Commission Law Enforcement Planning Council.
